IMO (isomalto-Oligosaccharide) syrup tapioca is derived from tapioca starch with the finished product being a colourless syrup.

The syrup’s active ingredient isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO) is a mixture of short-chain carbohydrates and is resistant to digestion. It is slightly sweet at 50% of the sweetness of sucrose and has prebiotic benefits. IMO can be found naturally in certain fermented foods and has been identified as a natural constituent of honey.

Other benefits include being a low-calorie sweetener, having good binding capabilities with the added advantage of having no artificial taste or bitter aftertaste. In addition to this, it is free of allergens and suitable for vegans.

IMO (Isomalto-Oligosaccharide) syrup tapioca is suitable for use in foods and can be used as a sweetener.
