Carob powder originates from the pods of wild Carob trees that are found in Spain and around the mediterainian sea. The powder is produced by drying, grinding and roasting the pods. It is a full bodied, crystal like powder that is sweet to the taste.

Its often used in cooking to add extra depth to sweet recipies and is often used as a substitute to cocoa or chocolate, as it has the flavour without the fat or calories. To replace cocao for carob for simply use the same amount called for in the recipe. It is almost 50% natural sugar so can also be used as a replacement for sugar in baking.

Cabob isa good source of calcium and is known as being the ideal survival food due to its incredible richness.

It is believed to have medicinal properties and can help infants keep down their meals better when added to milk formula.
