Capsicum extract 2% capsaicin is a fine powder extracted from the fruit of the red hot chilli pepper (Capsicum frutescens L). 

Capsaicin is the active component of chilli peppers. It is the most common capsaicinoid, produced exclusively by plants from the Capsicum genus. Capsaicin is commonly used in food products as a spice to add heat and in topical applications for pain relief. 

Capsicum extract 2% capsaicin is commonly used in combination with green tea extract in capsules designed for weight management as together these ingredients have been shown to increase thermogenesis which leads to energy expenditure.
