CAPE ALOES

Product No. P01107

Cape Aloes (Aloe ferox) is a plant related to the more common Aloe vera, growing on the Cape Horn of South Africa. Most Aloe species have large, fleshy reddish leaves. The leaves are lance-shaped with a sharp apex and a spiny margin. Aloe flowers are tubular, and most commonly yellow, pink or red, borne on densely clustered leafless stems.

Cape aloe is a medicinal herb. The leaf juice can be dried into a dark brown to black crystalline powder, called aloes. This very bitter substance acts as a tonic, purgative, and anthelmic. Aloes are used to cleanse and detoxify the digestive tract. The leaves contain a soothing gel that has anti-inflammatory properties.

Taken in capsule form, cape aloe leaf acts as a laxative, removing poisons from the digestive tract while supporting beneficial bacteria. Cape aloe leaf gel has anti-inflammatory properties and is used to treat arthritis and minor aches and pains. It can also be used topically in anti-aging creams and other health and beauty products.
