Black garlic extract 3% polyphenols is a brownish-yellow powder sourced from the Bulb of the Allium sativum L.

Black garlic is simply regular garlic which has been fermented at a high temperature and under high humidity. Fresh garlic undergoes 40 days of fermentation at 60-70° and 85-95% relative humidity.

Garlic is naturally antibacterial and antimicrobial meaning it’s a great ingredient for boosting the immune system and sits well in immunity & winter wellness formulations. It also has powerful antioxidant properties. 

Black garlic has significantly higher biological activity than fresh garlic.  

After processing, black garlic has a high content of polysaccharides, protein, phenolic and organic sulfur compounds. Since it has a reduced content of allicin, as a result of the fermentation process, its odour is not as strong as fresh garlic.The allicin content in fresh garlic is converted into antioxidant compounds during the ageing process.
