Also known as Ganoderma lucidum. Reishi has been used for thousands of years in Asian culture for its positive effect on the heart. It has been called the ‘elixir of life’ by Chinese healers, who have prescribed it for hundreds of years for those suffering from angina or chest pain. Recent studies have confirmed this beneficial effect, revealing reishi to be a potent cardiotonic that helps to improve blood flow to the heart, lower cholesterol, reduce high blood pressure and prevent blood clots.
