In ancient times, Pu-erh was an important town in China, and also the largest market for tea trade. Tea produced in these mountaineous, mild regions was therefore called 'Pu-erh Tea'.
Pu-erh tea is made by using the tender leaves of large leaf Qingmao-Tea tree, which is known as the 'king of all tea trees' since it grows leaves of superior quality.
In the past, Chinese emperors drank the tea as a prophylaxis against disease, and as a means of purifying. Current research, however, has shown that Pu-erh tea can help lower cholesterol, clean the blood, cure hangovers and indigestion and assist in treating obesity.
Pu-erh-tea is used worldwide as a natural means of slimming. In contrast to green tea, it not only lowers cholesterol levels, but also accelerates the reduction of triglyceride in the tissue, leading to weight reduction.
Since Pu-erh-tea has an anti-bacterial effect, it also offers ideal protection against infections, and has been known to assist in the destruction of pathogens, helping to cure and protect against dangerous infectious diseases.
