ESSNA

CCL are now members of ESSNA - the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance.

ESSNA 'is the voice of the specialist sports and physique nutrition sector in Europe'. The Alliance was launched formally on 2nd December 2003 with the following aim:
To be a forum for discussion and vehicle for action on the concerns of the specialist sports nutrition sector to secure appropriate and proportionate European legislation on sports nutrition products.

In short, ESSNA works to;
- identify and neutralise threats to your business and
- maximise opportunities for business growth

Chairman, Dr Adam Carey, is Head of Nutrition at the England Rugby Football Union and the nutritional expert and co-presenter for ITV's Celebrity Fit Club and Sky One's Change The Day You Die. He has 19 years experience in the NHS, and advises many groups of elite athletes and celebrities, including Premiership football teams and the England Cricket Board. He writes extensively for consumer magazines and has been published widely.

CCL recognises that we have become an integral part of the sports nutrition industry, and in order to offer the most effective service to our customers in this sector, that we need to take a proactive instead of reactive role within it. Becoming part of the alliance with ESSNA is one way in which we can stay ahead of the changes within the industry, and play our part in helping to ensure products within the industry receive a fair representation with regards to legislation.

 Benefits Of ESSNA Membership include;

· Regular meetings to join together with fellow members of the industry and decision makers
· A forum for discussion and vehicle for action to secure appropriate and proportionate EU legislation for  sports nutrition
· Working to protect the Sports Nutrition industry from inappropriate and unnecessary regulatory burdens   from the EU
· Established dialogue with key EU Institutions, in particular the EU Commission
· ESSNA provides a unified voice for the Sports Nutrition sector
· Regular updates of relevant legislative developments that will impact on our industry 

There are significant legislative challenges impending which could have major impacts on the Sports Nutrition Industry. Rather than sit by and accept legislation imposed by the EU, become proactive and work with your industry to help frame and influence the legislative process to benefit the industry as a whole. ESSNA can only represent the views of the ESSNA membership – so to make your views heard, become a member!
